Wife and I each had free room so needed to split up family members

In my room is oldest grandson - he is a single dad (has death certificate for wife)

His son (7 yrs old) is in my wife's room with his girlfriend

(should have put the girlfriend in my room and wouldn't be asking the question)

Can grandson and his son go on ship together through in different rooms.

Does my wife need letter from my grandson stating he is approving his son to stay in her room

Once om ship we will be asking for extra room keys so wife and grandson will actually swap rooms

Lastly the 3rd person in my room is a grandaugter - 18 - Does she have to board with me or can she board with my son's family (her uncle - different last names) who she is traveling to ship with (hopefully we all get same boarding and meet up before parking)

Hope you can follow this .

There are several issues with your scenario.

1. You and your wife have booked cabins based on a special offer (casino??). Check the restrictions to determine if the passenger that the rates apply to must be present to check in with the other passengers in the cabin.

2.The minors (anyone under twenty one not traveling with a parent in the same cabin or reservation number) may need to have a designated guardian in the cabin with them (notarized letter from parent). The minors will need to have the designated adult for their cabin with them to check in (the seven year old will not be allowed to check into a cabin that has no adult present).

You may have issues at check in and should be prepared with any possible documents.

It might depend on the agent. My son (minor at the time) was once stopped from checking in until I arrived since he was in my room. I was parking the car. His dad/my husband was with him but assigned to a different room.

The agent wanted me to be present to check in my son since I was the adult assigned to the room with the minor.

In your scenario, your wife should attempt to be present at check-in with the 7 year old or even check-in before him.

It is the responsible adult in the same cabin that needs to check in with the minor child.  And the same goes for exiting the ship at any port.  Can you move people around on your booking so the father of the minor child is in the same cabin as him?  I don’t think there would be a charge for this since these are casino bookings, as long as you and your spouse are in separate cabins.
