Drifter1956 Posted June 19, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2023 We're booked on the Carnival Pride for a 9 day European Cruise in September. I need to use a CPAP when I sleep. Does anybody know if CCL stocks distilled water? Has anybody had any problems bringing a CPAP with them to Europe and aboard a ship. Any advice or tips? Thanks in Advance

Rothko1 Posted June 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2023 How about just taking a small bottle of distilled water with you onto the ship? Shouldn't be a problem, and I imagine a small bottle would get you through the 9 days.
sabookkeeper Posted June 25, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2023 DH and I both travel with our CPAP machines. We have not cruised on Carnival, however, Princess provides us with distilled water and extension cords. I would think Carnival would be similar.
MandD Posted June 29, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 29, 2023 I would agree with Sabookeper and add notify cruise line before cruise.
Rare Mike B Landlubber Posted July 9, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2023 I have received distilled water on HAL, Norwegian, and MSC with no problems either for free or for minimal cost, roughly five dollars. I think it is pretty universally-available. 1
Pyrate13 Posted July 10, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2023 I've used a CPAP for over 15 years and plenty of cruises. The tap water on the ship is just fine (in some cases depending on treatment, it can be on par with distilled water), I've never had an issue with it. Yes, Carnival has distilled water for a fee. I've seen different prices reported but since I don't use it I'm not sure of the current cost. I figure, why pay for something that most of which will end up being poured down the drain at the end of the trip. I'm not dragging it home. That seems absurd, but maybe it's to keep people from smuggling bottles of vodka, gin, or blanco tequila onboard? 1

CRUZFINDER Posted November 2, 2023 #15 Share Posted November 2, 2023 Quoted from Carnival's website on Nov. 2, 2023: "Carnival carries distilled water which can be purchased either pre-cruise if you are sailing from a US port, or once on board. For pre-purchase, please contact our Fun Shops department at 1-800-522-7648 ext. 70039, Monday-Sunday from 9:00am-9:00pm ET. For purchase on board, please contact Room Service. Should you wish to bring your own distilled water with you, it must be hand-carried along with your CPAP machine."
JoePatNYCT Posted January 3 #16 Share Posted January 3 (edited) I guess I should be happy that I sail Royal. 3 days before embarkation, Royal sends me an email asking about special needs. I let them know I need distilled water and an extension cord for my CPAP. Most of the time it's already in my cabin when I arrive. No charge. I've told to use extension cords that don't have surge protect like one beat.

Thanks in Advance For Carnival, there’s an online form you fill, advising them of your medical equipment. In theory, your cabin steward will have an extension cord in the room for you. My husband pre-ordered the distilled water and it was already in our cabin, when we arrived.
NSnJW Posted August 19 #20 Share Posted August 19 I always bring 2 compact 9 foot extension cords. I also bring magnetic and suction cup hooks. I have had some pretty long and tortuous cord paths on some ships.
