Dining question

We cruise a lot but never with anyone.  We have friends who want to go with us. So it is possible to get a table for 4 in the MDR (we only eat in buffet).  I’m guessing you have to do that dine your way or something like that.  Any guidance is appreciated.   Thank you

Yes, in the app, you can register that you have friends or family as dining companions and select a table for you all together.

You need their booking number.

We do this all the time as we very often travel with either 1 or 2 other couples.  As @theloo stated, you will need their booking number.  There is a place in the app to add travelling companions.  Then, when you go into the dining section you will see your companions.  Put a checkmark beside each (if it's not already) and continue making your reservation for 4.  Easy!  (Easier still if you do this on a tablet or desktop that has a larger screen.)

We are booked for a cruise on Discovery Princess in early April and our son, his wife, and our granddaughter are also booked. (It will be their first cruise.) I am booked for a private table for 5 every night at the same time. Not a problem. I just added them as travel companions using their booking number and then selected them when making dining reservations.

You can make reservations on the app for all four of you or you can just show up to whatever dining room you choose when you’re ready to dine that evening and they’ll seat the four of you together. Maybe you won’t want to dine all four of you together every single night or maybe you’re going to be in Port late and you won’t be hungry for a set time ( reservation on app)for dinner. Or maybe two of you want to go to buffet and two want to go to the dining room one or 2 nights.Lots of choices .

You can also go one evening to one dining room and the next night to a different dining room, etc. You don’t have to be “stuck” going to the same place every evening. Yes ,they all have the same menu ,just gives you a different look.
