Anyone have experience to share regarding "Princess Prizes" when you have the premier plus plan?

Just one man's opinion:

Carnival Corporation is not going to pay down their $26 billion debt by paying you to open the door to your cabin.

We are fans and supporters of Princess. But don't make any decisions based on opening your cabin door.

Princess Prizes has nothing to do with "opening your door" as the Medallion only unlocks your door. Princess Prizes is just an add-on that you can either buy or have included in the premier package.

!4 days on Sky earlier this year and nothing!

as one $500 prize or several smaller ones?

It was a little over that with each of us getting $250 plus I think a smaller one. It was our first Princess cruise so we didn’t actually realize it until I checked our account. We were able to suffer through and spend it though.

Trust me, decision to upgrade had nothing to do with opening my cabin door. I am merely curious.

I’ve had it twice with the Premier and nada.  The first time I was entered into a drawing (you had to be present to win) and I was scheduled for my first 360 Dining.  I chose 360 dining when thinking about the odds.

I would never buy it as a stand alone. I got the Premier to use expiring credits.  Will stick with Plus as I don’t drink much.

True, unlocking your door enters you to win a prize.  You don't have to open the door to win.

I had the premier package so was automatically entered into what is basically a lottery. You get entered into this lottery when you open/unlock your door. However it is only available when the casino is open. I assume this is to do with gambling rules. We were lucky enough to win the "7 day cruise in a balcony cabin". So the big prizes do exist. You can upgrade to a longer cruise and/or a better cabin which we have done. So you get credited what a 7 day cruise in a balcony cabin on your chosen cruise theoretically would cost, then pay for the extra days and then the cost of an upgrade to your required cabin. Our prize came out as giving us a discount of roughly £1,400 on the 10 day cruise we booked. The booking is done directly with Princess and in our case it was done very efficiently and we were able to choose which cruise to use it on with no restriction.

Congrats to you on the great prize, that is awesome. We won the free cruise raffle on Carnival a few years ago. Any 5, 6, or 7D cruise leaving from Mainland North America in an OV cabin. We chose an Alaska cruise and paid for a balcony upgrade. Funny thing was that the free cruise did not, and still doesn't, count as a cruise or cruise days in Carnival's loyalty program.

After you take the cruise you won, would you be kind enough to check the Princess loyalty program and please let us know if Princess counted this one.

Yes no problem. Our cruise ends 8th October 2023 so will let you know then. I might ask the lady who booked it for us in the meantime to see if I can get the answer quicker

I thought thats how you attempt to 'win' the prizes....by opening and closing your door during time windows when 'Prizes' is active ?? Edit....ok its semantics...technically its unlock and not open but kinda the same thought....
