Linycruise Posted July 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2023 Hello, We'll be on the Opera next year cruising the Dubai area. Can someone please explain how to get to the port using the metro. Our hotel is one block from one of the stations so we would like to try and utilize that as transportation to the port. Thanks for your help, Linny
aussie cruzer Posted July 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2023 There are no metro stops close to the port, but taxis are cheap in Dubai.
Tin can Posted July 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2023 We were staying by Dubai Marina and took a Metro to a station nearer the cruise port and then caught a taxi, you will definitely need a taxi at some point as the port is huge and I couldn't imagine dragging cases in the heat. It was a bit of a hassle to honest and as aussie cruiser says taxis are cheap so if doing again we would get a taxi straight there. Have a great time, Dubai is fantastic! adam7392 Posted July 9, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2023 Take metro to Al Ghubaiba Metro Station (green line). With no luggage its easy to walk to the port from there by following the path along the creek. With luggage take a taxi found outside the station but insist on the driver using the taxi meter - as they are legally supposed to do - don't accept a fixed price offer as it'll be a good bit more expensive than the meter. Should be less than 10usd.
KINGBOBOFTHENORTH Posted July 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 9, 2023 It's really not worth the hassle IMO of paying the Metro fares and then a taxi from the nearest Metro station. I've sailed on 2 cruises out of Dubai, both times staying in hotels by the airport. It was around 20 USD both times from our hotels to the port.

Nunagoras Posted July 10, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 10, 2023 As previously mentioned: If a transfer wasn't part of your deal (and chances are that it may be), then use a taxi to go there. Far away from nearest metro station.
perakcruiser Posted July 11, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2023 Careem (the Uber of the Middle East) is always much cheaper than a taxi. Download and set up the app before you leave. As said Al Ghubaiba station is quite close but with luggage not so nice. You also can access from the Gold Souq metro station. It looks not convincing in the map, but it is very easy thanks to the infinity bridge. Up with the elevator, walk over the creek, down with the elevator. We have chosen a hotel next to the bridge and even with luggage easily done.
