Formal nights on an Alaska cruise

There are many discussions on this board on the topic.

The dress code doesn't change...it is the same everywhere Princess sails. However, people tend towards more relaxed (casual)versions as people need to bring a heavier and more varied amount of clothes due to the cooler weather in Alaska.

2 more cents worth….

Wear what’s comfortable for restaurant dining on a cool evening or blasting a/c.

We have even worn short sleeves in Alaska…saves packing another heavy shirt. Just throw on your daytime cardigan that you’ll bring for “sea days”.  Multipurpose everything to help with overpacking.

Outside chilly doesn’t necessarily mean inside chilly.

Thank you, roupa! I have been on several Princess Cruises, but I haven’t been to Alaska since I cruised with my grandma on the Sun Princess in 1980. Now I get to be the Grammy bringing my grandsons along! I’ve been thinking that they would be fine with long sleeved shirt and slacks. I truly appreciate your two cents. And now I have $0.04!

How lucky are you to travel with your grandchildren!  How lucky are they!!!

I hope you all enjoy this trip together… not missing social media or a theme park.  Geography, history, exploration, excitement for all !
