What to do in Ft. Lauderdale between disembarkation and being at the airport

Our flight isn't until 4:30pm so we need to be at the airport by 1:00pm.  We just don't want to sit around an airport all day, I can't think of a duller thing to do.  Last resort, we will take the ship's excursion but neither of them appeal to us.  Also, is there any place where we can put our luggage for several hours?  Any help is appreciated.

See if your cruise line has Luggage Direct. Then go on the Water Taxi for a few hours.

I think there is a luggage storage company in Terminal 1 where you can leave luggage for a few hours.  There are casinos and malls nearby or just a walk on the beach.
