read2learn Posted July 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Flights are easier and more frequent to Miami but cruise is leaving from Port Everglades. If the expense is pprohibitive I'll deal with the inconvenience of Miami flights. Thanks for any auggestions!
JohninDC Posted July 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2023 The drive from MIA to Port Everglades takes about 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic. Plan on a $75-80+ cab fare, depending onwhere your FLL hotel is located. You can also take the Tri-Rail train from MIA to several stations in the FLL area - ask your hotel where to get off; tickets cost about $5. Uber and Lyft should be cheaper than a taxi, unless demand pricing pushes the fares up. 1

Elaine5715 Posted July 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2023 Depending on when, Brightline trains may be running.

JohninDC Posted July 29, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2023 But to use Brightline from MIA you would need to get downtown to catch the train - Tri-Rail runs from MIA

But PP implied Brightline wasn't already running.

Flymia Posted August 1, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2023 Brightline is impractical for MIA to Ft. Lauderdale. Unless it is a large group just Uber/Lyft.
