Italy/Greece cruise wine??

I read somewhere on these boards that on a Mediterranean cruise you can bring on wine at every port and you are allowed to take it to your room.  Can some confirm this for me?  Thanks.

This was the case when we cruised on the Sunshine years ago. We were on a Med cruise, and no one questioned wine or liquor (Limoncello!!) brought onboard at ports.

So, is there a limit to how many bottles?  Can DH bring two bottles of wine and I bring a bottle of liquor at embarkation in Rome?  Just curious because we will have two days at sea and I would like wine at dinner both nights and cocktails in the room.  TIA!

No limits. Pretty sure I brought four bottles of wine and a bottle of liquor in my bag since we had two sea days first.

So glad this was brought up. We just booked a 10 day cruise on the Legend out of Rome next August.  I had no idea this was possible.
