By the way, there are lots of great rain wear to be sold in the Ward Cove cruise terminal at Ketchikan - at reasonable prices.

It’s way more crowded now than when I came in. 60-90 minutes I heard someone say.

This area was empty when I walked up.

I’ll be fine. Apart from yesterday I probably haven’t seen rain since June. I’ll take my clothes off and dance in it.

This is a place I’m  pretty sure I heard had a good donut in their back cafe. I can’t catch it open though. Yesterday afternoon it was closed and now it doesn’t open till noon and it’ll be closed when I get back.

We’re stopping in Palmer to pickup lunch for later. We’ll eat before or after our hike.

 

2 mile walk on the ice. 2-2.5 hours on the ice.

 

We’ll stop to see things on the way back.

 

Plan is to get back 6-6:30 but if it’s earlier he’ll do a city tour to fill our time.

Seward was the largest city in Alaska. Anchorage came in when they wanted to build a railroad to Fairbanks. Location was chosen due to sand and gravel in the area.

Glacier is 4 miles across and 27 miles long.
