corb134 Posted August 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2023 How much noise is there on the 4th deck?
oakridger Posted August 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2023 @corb134 Welcome to Cruise Critic! It depends where on the 4th deck you are standing! I suggest you look at the NA deck plans and see what is below and above any of the cabins you may be interested in. I suggest a site called Cruisedeckplans.com that has a tool to overlay a section of the ship over your cabin choices to see what it is above and below. (You can view it without being a member but can't see the videos if you are a visitor.) Nieuw Amsterdam Deck Plans, Layouts, Pictures, Videos (cruisedeckplans.com) The tool is called "Cabin Check Tool" and is in the lower right corner of each deck page. ~Nancy

A little more information would be helpful, specifically what area of Deck 4 are you considering. The noise and vibration can also vary depending on the ship's speed, sea state, tender operations and when manoeuvring.

oakridger Posted August 24, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2023 (edited) Continued................@Heidi13 knows all the info on ships! I'll add that you probably don't want to be above or below an area that has live music such as the Ocean Bar which is midship just aft of the mid elevators. Above you are all staterooms, so you are good from above. Midship cabins are usually partially or obstructed view. The Ocean Bar live music doesn't go any later that maybe 10:30pm so after that should be quiet. Did you look at the deck plans online yet? ~Nancy Edited August 24, 2023 by oakridger
