Tonight was a Gala Night. The food was excellent, and service was appropriately fast.

I'm happy that the pastries and rolls were better after the crouton like cinnamon roll!  Last fall on Nieuw Amsterdam and Rotterdam the bread and pastries were really excellent, so I am hoping it's fleetwide.

Honestly, it's one of the nicest summer days we've had in New England all year.

Good morning from the coast off Halifax:

I walked around the promenade deck before breakfast, and took some pictures of the sail in:

I went to breakfast in the main dining room. Service was on the slow side, which didn't really bother me, but some of my table mates found it to be a bit much.

 

I got the Aloo Masala, which was fantastic:

We got off this morning and walked along the boardwalk:

And then up (and I do mean UP) to the Citadel. It's definitely worth it, but it isn't for the faint of heart (or faint of anything else). We're in our 30s and walk as a primary means of transportation, and it was still steep for us.

The entry fee was $12.50 Canadian, and they take cards.

There is a cute little shopping area at the port area. They also randomly had little blueberry tarts they were giving out to celebrate Holland America's 150th anniversary.

We went back aboard and got lunch in the lido (sorry - I forgot to take pictures). We then ended up to the Crow's Nest for coffee and working on a communal puzzle.
