coscab Posted August 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2023 (edited) I have 80 shares of carnival stock, thinking of buying 20 more for benefit, are there any restrictions on getting the obc. Edited August 29, 2023 by coscab
Rare Haljo1935 Posted August 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2023 I have not had an issue combining it with any offer or rate or with stacking it on Carnival, but I have on other CCL lines. One call out is it can get a little muddy on B2B - seems it's not consistently applied, so do check once you get confirmation it's been added. Elaine5715 Posted August 29, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2023 Depends on the offer. The ones that are "Pay $200 Cruise Fare, Get $200 OBC" not likely unless you bump up a room category and pay more cruise fare.
john91498 Posted August 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2023 The only time I was denied the stock benefit was a few years ago when Carnival was giving out a lot of free cabins to get people back to cruising. I was denied, but reapplied a few weeks later and was approved. YMMV...

The Premier etc cruises are fine..I've got one of the $200/$200 ones booked in Nov and assume it'll be denied.
Old Fart Cruisers Posted August 29, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2023 I have only had 1 approved out of 9 cruises since the restart. I have tried resubmitting the requests multiple times with no luck. They were all pay $200, get $200 OBC offers, so that may be the reason. Never had any issues getting approvals before the shutdown.
Rare 1025cruise Posted August 29, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2023 I believe the stock benefit does not apply if you booked a discounted rate. I also believe you need 100 shares.

Seems half the folks say they were denied the stock benefit because of the casino offers, while the other half says they're not denied. I, for one, only sail if there's a decent casino offer. We're been doing casino offers for the last 25 years and for the most part, we've always been able to get the stock benefit. Could it be a regional case where the benefit is denied or not? I share your frustration. I'm not looking for a special exception - would just like consistency in how things are applied/approved. Still struggling w/adding HIA for same reason.
