seat booking without flight details

Further to my comments on August 30th re booking flight seats. The booking date is less than a week away but no flight details have been released yet.  Does anyone  know if the seat booking facility still allows seat booking 14 weeks before departure or must the actual flight details be published.?

It is only 14 weeks if it is a charter flight. If it’s a schedule flight then it’s 60 days.
