We are doing a cruise on Sky and have a choice of penthouse suite, either d727 or B735. They both appear to have great balconies so we are stuck knowing which to choose.any thoughts on how to decide? One thought is whether they both have the same shade and are they both overlooked? Are the cabins themselves the same size? Many thanks everyone.

Same cabin size but deeper balcony for d727. Both have some covering but if you are nearer the balcony rails you will be overlooked.  See this video for d726 and compare with this video from Enchanted Princess for B734 which will be very similar (both on the other side of the ship but gives you an idea).

we were in D726 earlier this year and the balcony is massive. It obviously depends on the position of the ship relative to the sun as to how much shade you will get but due to the size of the balcony you will find some part of it in the shade most of the time.

If you are right at the front of the balcony then you will be overlooked from the suite above - but just move back a bit.

We’ve sailed in D727 twice on a Royal class ship. The deck is huge. The problem we encountered was when smokers were using the aft portion of the ship on the Promenade deck. Many days we were unable to use our balcony due to the cigarette smoke, and at times it also leaked into our cabin. On our next cruise we’ve chosen cabin B734, which is on the opposite side of the ship. The balcony isn’t quite as large, but we won’t have to deal with the cigarette smoke.
