DOU everywhere, buying Cheers for the cabin mate

I think it probably depends on the ship.  I also think, from my experience, the bars may be able to do it- but there seems to be a process, and the bar tenders may be too busy when everyone is boarding to want to deal with it at times.  We went to guest services and she got it done for us in about 5-6 minutes.

We have done this the past several cruises. If you go to a bar, the bartender has to call the bar manager and they have to manually add Cheers onto your account. This took about 30 minutes because the bar tender was having issues getting in touch with whoever it was he was trying to call and it was causing service issues with other people waiting for drinks.

The rest of the time we have gone to guest services and they then send an email to the bar manager (or whoever it is) to have it added on. Either way, it will not be immediately on your account so you will see charges for each drink, but once it goes thru, all those charges are removed from your S&S account.
