Rare eileeshb Posted September 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2023 There’s something weird popping up on NCL itineraries with Juneau as a port of call, they’re showing it as a tender port. Has anything changed in Juneau lately that would suggest this will be the case for the rest of this year and for next year? I know the city is going to be limiting the number of ships visiting but that should ensure all can dock rather than cause more to tender. when I did a search on ncl.com for my upcoming cruise Juneau is showing as a tender port but there’s been no communication to announce such a change. yes this is being discussed on the NCL forum and other social sites, I’m posting this question here because I’m hoping someone local to Juneau/Alaska might have some insight. auntmeg Posted September 21, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2023 Depending on the number of ships in port on a given day, sometimes one ship has to tender. You can check the schedules here. https://claalaska.com/?page_id=1250

I’m beginning to suspect it’s a snafu on NCL’s website, they’re taking it down for maintenance tonight which means everyone on my cruise has to wait until tomorrow morning to check-in. Rare Coral Posted September 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2023 Tendering in Juneau sucks! I did this on my first cruise on RCCL. It was 2-10 pm, the weather was horrible and ship's tours went first. It wasn't until 4 pm when we got off the ship. 4-10 pm in Juneau were awful times.
