eddieg07410 Posted September 30, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2023 We just booked a meditteranean cruise that starts in Venice. We would like to hear recommendations for hotels moderately priced that are 4 stars, offer breakfast, and is a good location. Thank you in advance. Rare OneSixtyToOne Posted September 30, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2023 (edited) We stayed at the All Angelo, just a short walk from St. Marks. Great breakfast and we upgraded to a canal view. Took a water taxi from the airport to the hotel dock. https://www.allangelo.it Edited September 30, 2023 by OneSixtyToOne
LouChamp Posted September 30, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 30, 2023 Aloha. On our frequent visits, we stay at the Cipriani. One of few hotels with a pool.
downsmead Posted September 30, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2023 We use Hotel Olimpia which is just by Pizzale Roma very convenient for the train station, Vaporetto station and aerobus for the airport. Only one bridge to cross with luggage. Great places to eat in walking distance and lovely to wander through the streets to St. Marks. We have stayed here 3 times, it is our ‘go to’ hotel. Offer a lovely breakfast which you can eat in the garden behind the hotel or inside.
smj Posted October 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2023 I think Arcadia would work. There is only one bridge to cross from the train station, near 2 Vaporetto stops, good breakfast and great air conditioning. The standard room is small. Otherwise you may wish to take the bus from the airport to the main square--Pizzale Roma. This is the terminus of the walk way to the cruise ships (or where the cruise ships use to be) and all of the water buses stop at Pizzale Roma. There is (or used to be) a new Sofitel just one bridge away.

rmalbers Posted October 2, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2023 (edited) OP: One thing you need to say, do you want to be in hotel in the middle of the action or a place in a quiet area, by small bars, etc. away from it, (or I guess in between would be an option). There are so many places to stay that you have to narrow it down a little. Also, I think it's been said, you do NOT want to carry/roll luggage around at all in Venice. I would say close to the main sites.
millybess Posted October 2, 2023 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2023 We stayed here: https://alpontemocenigo.com/location/ https://alpontemocenigo.com/gallery/ Great location. Easy to get to. It has a beautiful private courtyard and the rooms are very traditionally Venetian with high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, etc.
Groovybusybee Posted October 3, 2023 #12 Share Posted October 3, 2023 Hotel Casanova just off St Marks square https://www.hotelcasanova.it/ right in the centre of things but beautifully quiet at night when all the tourists have departed.
