It saves some time when you get go the port, but you can just wait until you get to the pier. Just plan for a little longer check in process.

Not a big deal, you can do it all at the pier.

It's up to you. I always check in only and print out the docs, because I don't want to be filling out stuff at the cruise terminal.

You can board.  However, your edocs contain info that you might need in the case of an issue with transfers, excursions, paid services, etc.  Always a good idea to have a copy.  Print as PDF to your phone or tablet.

@christopherlee62 Within Edocs there is a link for luggage tags unless you don't have luggage

   If he can't finish the e-docs  at home, he won't be able to print or download them as they will not exist yet.However, per your suggestion, he could go to the cruise payment; guest info; insurance purchased; pre-paid amenities sections, etc. and print out all that applied. That way he would have  hard copies to show them. Or he could download them to his preferred choice of media.
