We are doing the Panama Canal transit in January 2024 on the Island Princess, Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles,  What is the best place on the Island Princess to view progress through the Canal?  Is the bow open to passengers?

Welcome to Cruise Critic!

All over the ship. You will want to be on the front in what ever way (I don't know the answer to bow being open) possible, at least for awhile...like going through a lock. You will want to be on the Promenade deck, or similar for at least one trip through a lock. You might wish to be on the stern for a lockage, or at various other times.

Negative, the bow area is an outer deck space for the crew, so never open to pax.

That class of ship has a fwd deck on each of the 2 decks below the Bridge. Great location to watch entry into the locks.
