Miss Studio Posted October 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2023 Has anyone used their credit card points from Bank of America recently, on Celebrity? I am specifically trying to find out if the OBC is a Refundable OBC? Back in January, I was able to cash out unused credit on Royal. Trying to find out if that's an option for my November 2023 cruise on Celebrity.
39august Posted October 27, 2023 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2023 I believe all credit card points converted to OBC are refundable. If you do this on line, you also have to call Celebrity to get the points properly applied. Some how, they can "see" the credit, but they have to do something on their end to make it work. Would I just call the main number that is listed on the Celebrity website to do that? Should I redeem the points through Bank of America site, first; and then call Celebrity to follow-up? Rare Pennstatedj Posted October 27, 2023 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2023 I have used X credit card obc and my visa BOA cards on Celebrity. Yes is your answer. However I have had problems with one of the transactions and had to show copy of the reward to get it. So bring along your receipt in hard copy. I also lost a lot of X Boa obc during the pandemic. Celebrity and BOA does not communicate well. It was a nightmare to get some of the credit back. Lost over 500 dollars due to no one being able to follow transactions when cruises were cancelled. I have since cancelled my X card. I have more control over my Visa card thru Boa and ML.BOA is very hard to deal with too and together it was a nightmare. NaplesKnitter Posted October 27, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 27, 2023 I’ve done this several times and never had any problems when I called vs doing it myself online. It shows on your cruise planner very quickly . When I did it myself online, it took several months to see it online.
gdy0354 Posted October 30, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 30, 2023 just got off 10-day repositioning Summit cruise. I had $800 obc. $250 was BAC refundable from Celeb credit card perk. Others were nonrefundable. Used up nonrefundable for gratuities, as well as Casino chips (promotional chips with no fee), and other items while onboard. I did not use up the $250 refundable BAC OBC. Day after cruise I got a BAC credit to my bank account. Very simple process.
