Embarking luggage at different port QM2

We're booked on QM2 westbound TA in December. Some years ago we took QE2 westbound but were able to ship an extra bag to Cunard IN NEW YORK a few weeks ahead. The baggage master just stored it onboard and it was waiting for us when we embarked in Southampton. Anybody tried that lately? Saved us from sending it internationally to UK.

Unlikely that Cunard or the authorities would allow unaccompanied luggage to sail on the ship.

QE2 had a Baggage Master. The current fleet do not.

And indeed a baggage room, which was converted into a Suite near the end.

Indeed,  Baggage Masters & Baggage room facilities  - yes those were the happy days,  well before 9/11.
