But we all wanna know the hot goss 😩

safe for CC version - older fella got a little amorous and profane for public and worked in some screaming at people and hitting the floor action before security gave the ol’ friendly escort back to the cabin

Couple things: if you like hot showers, you’re in luck. This one really brings the heat. I have it as cold as it gets and it’s warm. Bear in mind one of the weird things about me is that I’m a cold shower guy. That’s why I have a bunch of pics from winter cruises where I’m the only one in the pool. I dig it. Then again, I also can’t stand milk in my cereal and think it makes zero sense, so consider the source 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also, didn’t take pics, but I strolled through the Horizon Court to check on the lunch situation, and the continue to really excel with the selection. You had your standard American lunch stuff, an Indian line, a taco bar, a Korean line, the pastry shop… so much variety, different stuff every day. I had a few of these Indian meatballs (I forget the name) and some refried black beans which are my fave but aren’t super common.

Just snorted out loud at work.  My boss pokes his head out and asks if I am okay?  I said, fine... just allergies. 🤣

a little side observation - this is a great ship, but one little thing…. When I sailed Miracle to Alaska and Pride to Europe I LOVED that observation deck you see above the bridge. It was big, never that crowded, and an amazing vantage point for sailing into those insanely scenic stops. it was also super easy to get to - just walk forward on 10 (on the outside deck around the gym, a novel concept)

there’s nothing I’m aware of like that on Regal. The area above the bridge are all cabins, and at the top is the Sanctuary, and since I didn’t pay for that this time I’m not sure but I can’t tell if there’s even an outdoor viewing area there for those who do pay. I dunno. No big deal at all, I wouldn’t hesitate to sail Royal class again, I just like to have a forward observation point, especially in Alaska or Europe.

There is and it is pretty nice! People race to book it on day one like they used to do for Vibe on NCL. No bar but great service and peaceful if you like that.

yeah, it’s nice. Isn’t it covered though? I liked having a public open air space, ya know?

honestly, I had no interest in booking it this cruise because like you said, there’s no bar, no pool… but once I was onboard and realized just how good the drink service is from the sanctuary staff (watching them hustle to sanctuary guests in the retreat) and mostly that sanctuary guests get to use those poolside cabanas at the retreat pool just steps away, I might consider it in the future

It is partially covered, so you can pick an area with full or partial sun if you want. The ones on the newer ships (Discovery for example) have a pool. The pool is covered though. I can’t wait to sail on the new Sun Princess. It’s a whole new ballgame for Princess with the indoor outdoor Dome and Sea View Terrace and the Haven-like suites area. https://www.princess.com/en-us/ships-and-experience/ships/su-sun-princess?cid=bm_paidsearch_bkws_google_pcl_bkws_uscan_na_brandships-sun-newpl_sunprincess_exact_na_na&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6vaqBhCbARIsACF9M6nHkTMGjn79w358ieMacYZKKNYUvk7-TJ2H8hymki9NVOhLVC20p6MaAlhjEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I agree! The P&O ‘Britannia’, a Royal Class variant, doesn’t have an outside space up front either, but it DOES have a bar (‘The Crow’s Nest’) two decks above the bridge, directly below the Sanctuary equivalent (the ‘Retreat’, also a pay venue). Great views, good drinks. And no wind!

Really missed that space on Sky Princess, which I felt was an improved version in every other respect.

good to know, thanks!!! I’m eyeballing Sky for a sailing next summer, and the Retreat alterations have seemed a hot button issue on the Princess board (and I don’t fully understand it), but everyone on this thread and a couple people I talked to onboard have all been very pro the changes post Regal

Yes, I’d agree - I did the Regal as a return-to-cruising ‘Staycation’ in late ‘21 and the Sky’s Retreat last year was a much improved offer. The pool was more sheltered, and the upper deck (on top of the added cabins) wasn’t as windy somehow. I expected the pool to feel claustrophobic but it really wasn’t.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it regardless - loving this LIVE and the fun you’re having!

I feel ya! Honestly this batch of 6th graders is the first group to feel “normal” again if that makes sense. I think they were young enough when it happened that they still learned how to act and be social without impediment. Or maybe I’m just lucky with a good crew of kiddos this year!

This is refreshing to hear. I am glad things are getting back to normal for the kids and teachers too!
