Can you purchase Princess Prizes separately or is it only available with the Premier package?  Cost?

We won a 7 day cruise last week 😎I believe entry without the Premier package is $20 per day on all cruises billed in USD. Not sure about AUD. I wouldn’t pay to enter

That’s great about winning a cruise. We will have the premier package on our next cruise. How do you activate the cabin door to start playing? How did you find out you won?

Entry is automatic. The casino manager mentioned it but there might have been a “You won” notification on the door panel. Knowing that would require actually remembering to look at the door panel though. We are failures 😞

They came up to a lady at lunch in the MDT one day on a recent cruise. They tracked her by the medallion to tell her she had won something

You can play per day for $20.  I think there is a section in the app to activate it if you don’t have the premier package. 
The prizes are only active while the casino is open.  Then, it will show on your door panel if you’ve won a prize.  We’ve only won $25 a couple of times but my cousin won the $5000 last year and a good friend just told me she won a free 7 night cruise.  So, people are winning.

I recall reading recently if you do not have the Premier package which should automatically ‘activate’ your door for the Princess Prizes game, you need to go to Guest Services to OPT in and I thought I read the cost was now only $10/day.

 

Previously you could OPT in by touching your door panel, but I think Princess got too many passengers not realizing the ‘costs’ to play the game and assume once you OPT in it is for all remaining days in the cruise. 
 

As the game is sponsored by the Casino, it is only active while the Casino is open. 
 

When I have Premier, I am more conscience to look at the door panel to see if I have won a prize, but I have only seen the messages ‘better luck next time’ or ‘game closed’.

 

I believe there is a list on Princess.com what the list of current prizes are and the odds of winning said Prize. I seem to recall it says a 7 day cruise is awarded each cruise?

 

Also I remember when the game was first introduced, the ship made it a big deal with a presentation in the Piazza on the last day with the Entertainment Director opening a suitcase with envelopes of 5 prizes? I believe the top prize at that time was $5000. I think that amount was suppose to vary depending on the number of players?

 

It appears if you win one of the ‘top’ prizes, someone will try and find you on ship. An acquaintance currently on the Sapphire saw his account was credited with $250 OBC, so we assume it was a prize from Princess as he has Premier, but no one from the ship called or notified him to let him know he won a prize.

We were on the Emerald in October and had the Plus package.  On the second or third day I thought it would be fun to do the prizes and I opted in via the door.  It added $10 per day to the folio.  We didn't win but it was fun.

Door prizes are not available on 3 day sailings, apparently. I was on the Crown last month for a 3 day

sail and the door prize scheme never happened. Casino staff was ignorant as to the parameters of the program.

I think my odds are better taking the extra money to my favorite slots in the casino

I think my odds are better taking my money (not sure I understand what “extra money” is) to Sabatini’s where my historical percentage of having a great dinner is 100%.

I've done Princess Prizes on 2 cruises, one cruise I won $75 in OBC, 3 prizes of $25.  The next cruise, I didn't win anything. Each one was because I'd upgraded to Premier.  I have a lot of fun with all the photos. 

 

You can look at your 'winnings' on the stateroom TV.  Select yourself and then select the Princess Prizes and it'll show all the prizes won.  Whether it be a drawing entry, OBC, Specialty Dining, etc.

 

I think you can check on the app now as well, but I'm not sure about that.
