rohudd1 Posted December 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2023 Hi My husband and I will be on the Encore on Feb 4. I realize that since I booked with a certificate that had been offered from my land casino, we can have drinks while playing. My husband only drinks one or two drinks a day, so a package would not be worth it. Can I bring a glass of wine into the MDR if I get it at the casino? I will also bring a bottle or two onboard and pay the corkage fee. Thanks

You can also get bottled water, energy drinks, sports drinks from the Skyline Bar with your casino drink cards. UKstages Posted December 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2023 the posters above are correct... no problem bringing a drink into the dining room or a specialty restaurant. remember, though, that the casino bar is only open while at sea. so, availability of casino "free drinks" for dinner may depend on when you're dining and when sail away is in each port. interesting comment about the corkage fee! as you may know, those with a drink package are not charged a corkage fee. but i think you are correct in that you technically won't have a drink package, so a corkage fee may apply. personally, i think there is some wiggle room there. at the very least, NCL should clarify in its terms/policies whether a free drink card in the casino can exempt a guest from corkage fees. as it stands now, sadly, i don't think it will. it's not an official "drink package." rohudd1 Posted December 1, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted December 1, 2023 I appreciate everyone's input. If I have to pay a corkage fee for two bottles, that's perfectly fine. I realize that the casino will not be open during port days, so this will work. I just can't justify paying all that money for a package when neither of us drinks very much! Enjoy the holiday season!

No, the casino drink card does not exempt you from the corkage fee. i tried with wine from NCL because i was coming from another cruise. It was East West red and underneath that said 'By Norwegian Cruise line'. The person said the drink package has to be printed on the keycard and it doesnt matter where the wine came from. i said ok and that she can keep it since it was free to me. She said she can write me a slip and the wine will be returned to me on the last day of cruise. i said sure and i did get the wine back on last day Edited December 1, 2023 by fstuff1
