kpjb Posted December 9, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2023 I'm looking at a couple different cruises that we'd go on with our kids. Previously when sailing with the four of us we've always been on the -away class ships that have the pull-down bunk bed. This works well for us because our kids are teens and don't want to sleep in the same bed. I saw that on the newer ships that this isn't an option, the couch pulls out to a double bed. Are there any of the older ships (Jewel, Pearl, etc) that have the pull-down single beds, or do we need to stick with the -away ships? I know that I can get adjoining rooms, but since we're really only in there to sleep and shower that seems like a waste.
complawyer Posted December 9, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2023 we were in a 2 bedroom suite on the epic about 5-6 yeas ago. my grandson and his friend were in the smaller of the 2 bedrooms, as i recall there was a bunk bed that came down from the wall. hope this helps u
TheDawg79 Posted December 9, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2023 Adjoining rooms with 2 teenagers is a game changer!! LOL. 1st time my wife and I did that and realized we no longer had to share a bathroom with 2 teenagers…we never went back to cramming into one cabin ever again. Think about it….2 bathrooms. Worth every penny
PNWMomma Posted December 10, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 10, 2023 We were on the Pearl with four of us(mom, dad, two kids) in 2016. The inside cabin had the beds which pulled down from the ceiling. We just had the lower beds be separate rather than together as a queen, so we essentially had bunk beds with a walkway between. Not sure how the balcony rooms are, but you may want to try searching the internet to find a cruise ship deck plan site with room pictures.

mjkacmom Posted December 10, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 10, 2023 We’ve been in balconies on the gem, jewel and breakaway with our kids, all have a Pullman plus a couch single in cabins for 4 (we are 7, so 2 connecting cabins).
