It’s a big money maker for them.

Not likely it will change. 😞

Disagree with the premise.  They will make money regardless as there isn't another casino in the next block that allows smoking.  Captive audience and smokers are plenty used to not being able to smoke in public places by now.  More and more land casinos don't allow it for gaming tables.

I totally agree, but why wouldn’t PCL change it to a no smoking casino?  I can only think they may worry about their bottom line…money.

We ask on every ship and they always tell us…it’s corporate!

So tired of hearing that excuse.

This is just another example of the Ivory Tower not wanting to offend or turn off guests.  But clearly, they have been on the wrong side of this for ages now - catering to a minority while offending a majority that perhaps only makes noise here and not enough noise to be heard at HQ?  It seems dead simple to make the call, so it would take a direct question to an exec to ask them.  If anyone ever sees a HQ exec on a ship, pin them down on it.

You said your cruise isn't until late 2024. Why not keep the celebrity cruise and book the princess one with the refundable deposit. It will give you more time to weigh out the pros and cons of both and then once you get closer to final payment cancel the one you don't want.

Yes. I wish @Host CJSKIDS could ask JP OB her ship now.

Sorry to the OP, to get off subject.

The Sun's casino is poised to be one of the largest at sea (according to Princess), or at least the largest in the fleet, for sure. More slot machines than ever before. But, it's very likely smoking will still be allowed.

I thought smoking was confined to only one area? If so, the Sun may have a big enough casino that it doesn't matter as much. I guess we'll know soon since the Sun is about to sail.

The Excel Class ships of Carnival, of which the Sun is based off of have both smoking and non smoking casinos on them.  Maybe there's a possibility the Sun and Star will have the same.
