Help! I want to pick up Norovirus on my cruise

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a little tired of everybody whining about how they don't want to get norovirus on a cruise that's coming up in 9 months and 2 days from now. Well I'm cruising in less than 2 months and want to get the most out of it, INCLUDING the Norovirus. Any advice on catching it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It happened to me and my DH on our cruise on Princess to Alaska. Al never got thru the first course of dinner on formal night. I ate alone. he was sick as a dog all evening. I got it in the morning and slept until noon. Very queezy, never actually threw up though. Thankfully it was all over by dinner the next night. Not fun! AND we didn't lick any railings or doorknobs.....as I recall............

Eat at the Windjammer, only from people's plates that they've left on the table when they're finished.

If you're really hungry, take the room service trays from the hallway that haven't been picked up yet.

Is THAT what they are??? I thought each hallway had it's own buffet and I've been complaining about the poor presentation. Is there somewhere else to eat on board?

Drink from all the public toilets. And if you are lucky enough to actually catch the norovirus, you might even lose 5-10 pounds, too!

AND we will finally have an answer as to whether the water in the toilets is fresh or salt water!!!!

RCI has over looked that this could actually be used as a marketing ploy...

"you will gain weight on the other guys ship...on ours you'll lose 5-10 lbs...and you'll get a free cruise" :p :p :p

That actually happened to us. We went to an all inclusive in Turks and Caicos.......lots of kids and lots of buffets. At the end of the week we caught some kind of bug and....didn't throw up but lets just say we spent a lot of time in the loo.

Came home lighter than when we started out.

If you follow all of the above directions and still don't get the Novo virus, at least you'll be able to pick up a good case of e-coli. Yum!

Well, that should count for something...;)

but, I think it would still be considered 2nd best.:p
