We are looking at booking the Celebrity Infinity in February which arrives in Athens at 7 am, the day before Debarkation in the same port.  There is no debarkation time listed.

Can we get off the ship at anytime on Debarkation day?

Thank you in advance for your help.

We are on Millennium in February. The cruise ends in Mumbai. We arrive on Tuesday. Cruise ends on Wednesday.  We were told that we cannot leave the ship for home before Wednesday normal debarkation. Flights from Mumbai to Florida leave late night to early morning. Ours is at 3:30am so we have to spend an extra day in Mumbai.  There are many reports of being permitted to depart early but we just aren't willing to miss our flight and incur the costs to change the ticket and hope we can get seats in business class for the 24 hour journey.

If you are referring to the day prior, then it should not be a problem in Athens.  Just let Guest Services know in advance.  Generally just walk off (no luggage assistance available) and get a cab.

If you are referring to debarkation day, then absolutely no problem, but once again - no luggage assistance will be available if it is before the "scheduled" times.

You are arriving in Athens the day prior to the end of the cruise and "overnighting".  Your actual "debarkation" time will be assigned onboard just like any other cruise - you will provide your departure information and be assigned a time based on flights, or you can select to self-debark at the earliest time on the disembark day.  If you want to leave the cruise to sight see on the day you arrive in Athens - that's no issue - you will be permitted to leave / come back same as any other port day.  If you wish to "disembark" a day early - let guest relations know in advance - as soon as you can (don't bother on day one because there are big lines, but do it on day 2 or so).  Reason for this is they have a manifest of passengers / immigration of who is on board, etc that needs to be cleared on the actual disembark day.  They will specially handle anyone disembarkation on the day prior.

With advance notice you can get off either on the first day or on the disembarkation day they follow the standard Tag Number disembarkation routine.

I've left the ship on the first night in Buenos Aires, Yokohama and Singapore.   You have to advise the ship and they often have a questionnaire on disembarkation preferences.   They need advance notice to coordinate with port to have customs and immigration available.    If first day you will need to do self disembarkation.

It’s not up to Celebrity, it’s up to the country you are entering.  Permission to leave the ship on arrival day in one location doesn’t mean it will be allowed in another.

if you are trying to arrange flights, always have a Plan B in case at the last minute permission is denied.

In your experience, were you assigned a time to disembark the day before, or could you choose the time? Celebrity actually offers a transfer the first day in Athens but it’s ridiculously expensive and it’s at 8 am. Our flight isn’t until after 5 so I was curious if we have any say in what time we get off the ship if it’s the day before.

Check your Cruise Planner and see if they offer airport transfers on the first Athens day. If so, it means they expect people will be allowed to disembark a day early.

Yes an no.    Airport drop off's are scheduled according to the time you specify for your flight.   The last would be around 8:30-9:00.

You are generally assigned a time according to you answers on the disembarkation form but if you go to Guest Service you will see a long line of folks asking for either earlier or later groups.
