Princess Plus Refund.

I recently booked a cruise that includes Princess Plus. I am about to book insurance (private not Princess) and am wondering about cancellation. Let's say I have to cancel the cruise the day before. Would Princess refund the cost of the Princess Plus and only keep the cruise portion or would I forfeit the entire amount even though the Plus only comes into account if you are actually on the cruise?

My opinion.

Plus package is a fare package. As such it would be covered the same as any other fare upon cancellation. If you upgrade to the plus fare on board then if you have to cancel the extra amount for plus would have never been paid.

Which is why I'm waiting until a couple weeks prior to sailing before I purchase the package.  The flip side is that Princess could hike the price in the meantime.

You can purchase the Plus package when on board, allowing you to use any OBC that you may have. (They're not likely to do a price hike on the package *in my opinion*.)

Thanks for the answers. In the future I will wait to book the plus package until just before sailing or better yet on board.
