Roundtrip to Europe Opportunity

Recommended Posts

Looking for a way to do a round trip Trans Atlantic in 2025?

Except for Cunard, it's usually TA's to Europe in the spring and to USA in the fall....but I found this interesting TA on Carnival.....Looks like the Carnival Mardi Gras is heading from Port Canaveral to Barcelona on 9/13/25........and returning a couple of weeks later (must be dry dock time).

That could easily be coupled with the usual Europe to USA TA's that time of year.

(We are contemplating this Carnival one way to Barcelona with a Holland America Line (our preferred line) return on 10/11 from Rotterdam to Port Everglades)

Two week cruise to Europe....two weeks in Europe.....two weeks cruising back home.....and no air!.....Sounds like paradise.  Not sure the dog we leave behind will allow this.

Perhaps it helps to be fairly local to Cunard's Brooklyn terminal, but we find taking a QM2 round trip crossing quite appealing. [and the ship itself is our major attraction]

We've done three so far [2017, 2019 & 2022] with our next one for this October.

My definition of a "round trip" means that I only unpack once as distinct from a multi segment trip with multiple embarkations, disembarkations, hotel rooms, air or land transfers...

A round rip is a lot less effort.

You might also add the Majestic Princess to the mix since that ship does a crossing, in July 2025, to Boston.  Over the years we have also found various lines (such as HAL and O) will have return (to North America) as part of Iceland, Greenland itineraries.  One can have a lot of fun finding options, especially for those of us who want to spend some time in Europe.

We're doing a TA from Port Canaveral to Barcelona on Celebrity in 2025.  Then a road trip and Eurostar for six weeks in Europe, then a QM2 back to New York in June.  With the Cunards going back and forth so often, it makes planning the cruises around your European vacation a lot easier.
