Have any Canadians been successful in purchasing Celebrity gift cards from AARP?

If you decide (or are permitted to purchase) make sure you read the fine print or search on CC. 

 

My understanding of reading the fine print is that you can not use them on an existing booking or for use onboard.   They can only be used on new booking as part of the cruise fare.

They can't be used for deposits. Only $500 per person. Also if you need to cancel you will lose the gift card. Also most travel insurance companies will not pay on non refundable gift cards. I have an email from Celebrity stating this

Thanks for all that are adding in.    I looked at them once and after reading the fine print I moved on.   Their advertisements sound so good BUT......
