Actually the deal I got was a lot cheaper than Celebrity's web prices. My TA had a group of cabins

Ok this is how Celebrity did my gift cards, I purchased $500 gift cards and when I saw my reciept they had lowered the price of cruise by $100 and then credited the account by $400. So if you cancel there is no proof that the gift card was $500. It also showed I paid $100 less for cruise.

On the AARP site they says the cards can't be used to settle onboard account

We are staying in Titusville, a lot cheaper than Port Canaveral prices. Only a 30 minute drive to port parking.

We will be on a Christmas cruise on the Equinox. There are not any options so far for dining packages. Hoping to see them soon

They can't be used for deposits. Only $500 per person. Also if you need to cancel you will lose the gift card. Also most travel insurance companies will not pay on non refundable gift cards. I have an email from Celebrity stating this

We are arriving a day early and staying at a Marriot property in Titusville for $158.00. Parking at Park Port Canaveral for $118.03. Alot cheaper than any park stay and cruise rates I have found.

I was able to get tips in my included price by going through TA

I don't know if this is new policy or not but my TA got an email from Mary Allen of Celebrity gift certificate program. Gift certificates are non refundable. What this means if you have to cancel your cruise for any reason you will lose your gift cards totally. Gift cards are not covered by trip insurance either. Talked to AARP and their response was once you buy them they are done. So even if you cancel before final payment is due you will lose your gift card.

I booked with a TA and they had package deals. Saved money plus the group package had refundable deposits

Checked on mine schedule for December and it was $1000 more

Virgin was a lot higher

Funny, I just compared the prices between the two for my Christmas cruise and they were more than twice the cost. Celebrity was 7 nights and Virgin was 6 nights

I have turned them in to AARP for the way Celebrity is treating people with the gift cards. They are investigating. Also I found out most travel insurance companies won't cover gift cards.

There is a number to call for GC support in the print. Call them and ask? I also saw where they can't be used for onboard credit.
