New to NCL

Recommended Posts

We just booked our first NCL cruise.  We are sailing on the Dawn in a suite.  I have so many questions-

What perks do suite guests receive? (free laundry, priority tenders, embarkation, etc?)

When can I start booking or even see the excursions that are offered?

Do I need to make dining reservations?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Welcome to NCL

As a suites guest, you will have breakfast and lunch in the suites dining room with a special menu. They usually use Moderno and Cagney’s for suites dining room. You’re on your own for dinner.

You will have the services of a concierge to book dinners in sold out restaurants and to escort you off the ship, when needed. If you are on a ShoreEx, follow the instructions on the meeting point for the tours.

You have al the services of a butler who will bring you afternoon treats and anything else you want (we have our Butlers keep bowls of M&M, funny bears, and bar mix filled in our room and pitchers of ice tea and water in the fridge).

Your butler will serve you meals in your room as ordered. We often take breakfast in our room on busy port days. For breakfast, there is the standard room service check box order form. Ignore the check boxes and order whatever you want from the Suites Restaurant. E.g., egg white omelet, fried eggs, steak, Tahitian French toast, ham, bacon, breakfast potatoes, hash browns, breads, juices.

No free laundry unless you are an upper tier Latitude member.

Excursions are posted as soon as NCL signs contracts with your providers. Check today on your MyNCL account.

Note ymmv with what actually happens.

The in room food is pretty consistent with pictures above.  In our experience, the snacks, even when requested, can vary widely.

Depending on suite level, OS and higher get booze in bottles in room plus water and soda.

If you are on deck 12, those are newer suites and near pool, buffet, and one deck up to bar and open forward deck.

P.s.  They won't bring drinks to room under drink package.

You need reservations for specialty dining. Reservations open 130 days prior to departure. Top tier latitudes can book at 125 days. Steerage can book at 120 days. Take advantage of your 10 day head start.
