What's The Temperature Like

Recommended Posts

Going on a cruise to the Nowwgian Fjords at the end of April.

I wonder if anybody has been up there at that time year and can say what the temperature is like at that time of year. The most Northerly that we will be going is Alesund.

We previously went to the Fjords in late August and had several days of temperatures in the high 20s and few with the inevitable rain.

I should imagine that end of April will be several degrees colder.

Thanks for any info.

I’d expect temperatures around 5-10°C with a chance of it going down to 0 or up to 15.

Note that a lot of mountain roads will not be open at that time of year, and the seasonal tourism operations may not have started up yet.

We did a Norwegian Fjords cruise last year within a few days of yours. We had great weather, mostly sunny and about 10 to 15 degrees. Only in Geirangerfjord was I glad I had brought a headband and light gloves. One disappointment was that the waterfalls (eg. Seven Sisters) were just starting to thaw, so not as spectacular as they would have been during the summer months.

As for clothing, I was fine all other days with a sweater/sweatshirt and lightweight water/wind proof outer layer.

Enjoy your trip!
