Southampton cruise shuttle to LHR

Has anyone ever taken the shuttle from Southampton cruise port to LHR.  Do you know which terminal it drops you off at LHR?  Our American Air to PHL is leaving 5/20 from gate 3 but we'll be staying overnight on 5/19.  That brings me to another question which is how close is Aerotel from Gate 3?  I know there are fancier hotels but after a 15 day cruise, I just need a place to get refreshed for a long flight home.  Thank you for all your help.

P.S. Don't suggest I ask Princess about their shuttles because I don't want to subject myself to their "Customer Service"

I have no experience taking any shuttle, but I wanted to clarify that AA leaves out of Terminal 3, not Gate 3. Aerotel is indeed inside Terminal 3, so that makes it very convenient. BUT, are you planning to spend the whole day there AND the overnight? It's a place to sleep, but not much else. The only real food options will be those in the terminal themselves (and not only in terminal, but before security) so that will limit things a lot and raise the food cost.

Which flight are you on? AA729 at 0945 or AA737 at 1300? If it's the later one, then I'd certainly echo what Zach1213 says. There really is no reason to hole up at the airport for 24 hours including overnight. Even if you're on the early one, there's a good argument for not wasting a day of your life there.

There are a couple of other options for food, though, in addition to the landside stuff at T3. You can easily walk over to T2 (via the underground walkways) and use the landside food outlets there. Heathrow's website has lists of what's available in the terminals. Or you could go to the Hilton Garden Inn that's basically attached to T2, which I think has a restaurant and a couple of bars. If you take a train to T4 or T5, there are also hotels attached to each of these.

Why not do a Princess post cruise excursion from Southampton to LHR?

The post excursions either stop at Stonehenge or Windsor then you are dropped at Terminal 3 then walk to your hotel.

International Friends - www.internationalfriends.co.uk

They pick up at Southampton dock, stop at Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor or a few other tours and will drop you at certain LHR hotels, if your is not listed get dropped of at LHR terminal 3.
