NCL Getaway Questions

Recommended Posts

I'll keep it short...leaving on the Getaway to Bermuda in March, so wondering..

1) Are Vibe or Arcade day passes available to book onboard?

2) Whats the difference between CruiseNext and CruiseFirst?

Am I correct that CruiseNext is the common registration desk?

3) And related, Whats a double up promo in CruiseFirst?

4) Anyone near Dockyards have experience with KS Watersports?

My daughter did a jet ski tour with KS and she loved it. Organized and convenient.

Vibe - maybe, if there's a cancellation.

CruiseNext are purchased on board, and ONLY on board unless someone is selling one to recoup some money because they need it.  CruiseFIRST are available during booking (or maybe through the website).

Exactly what's 'printed on the tin'.

Vibe is sold online pre cruise and usually sells out. The only availability onboard is cancellations. The getaway sells only a very limited number of passes. You would need to get to the port before it opens. Get a low boarding group. And walk really fast to see if there are any cancellations and get yourself on a wait list. Hundreds of people with priority will board before you.

CruiseNext certificates can be bought onboard. Cruise First certificates can purchased pre cruise.

Cruise Next is the NCL loyalty program desk in the atrium. You can buy certificates there. Top tier members can sign up for their entitlements there (behind the scenes tours, wine tasting, cocktail tasting, dinner with the officers).

Double up lets you use two certificates (instead of one) on some reservations. See terms of promotions… a lot of times on reservations 6 months out on balcony and above.

regarding the vibe... you've received a lot of interesting information here... some of it is accurate, some of it is not.

all NCL ships are supposed to offer passes for the vibe in advance via the website or the app. that allotment often sells out in advance of the cruise.

from NCL's current internal communication/spec sheet on the vibe, dated january 15, 2024:

"Vibe Beach Club access is currently available for applicable ships, on sailings embarking up to 12/31/2025. Guests can pre-book full cruise-length passes for Vibe Beach Club or Vibe Beach Club Cabana (if available) rentals. ... Pre-booking is available once the reservation is in BK (booked) status."

all NCL ships with a vibe are supposed to sell passes on embarkation day. if you get on the ship early and go straight to the desk where they're selling them (typically outside teppanyaki or headliners), you should have no problem securing a vibe pass. the allotment of passes on embarkation day is independent of presale. it doesn't matter if they are sold out and you don't have to hope that those previously booked will cancel.

from NCL's current internal communication/spec sheet on the vibe, dated january 15, 2024:

"A limited number of passes will be available for purchase on each sailing for all guests."

again, that's what NCL says about vibe pass availability.

YMMV.  in fact, mine did.

i had not previously had a problem buying vibe passes on embarkation day... until i boarded the getaway a month or so ago. my recent quest for vibe passes on the getaway was quite an adventure... to learn more, see the linked thread and begin at post #25.
