buckeyefanatic Posted March 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2006 Royal Caribbean just added Senior Discount for 55 and over on our cruise for August 13 on AOS. We saved $100. Probably good on other cruises. Worth a call!!!
Host Kewlguy Posted March 23, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2006 I'm still trying to figure out when 55 years old became a senior. I always thought a senior was 65 or older.

Maybe that's for the grey hair that my 18 year old DS gives me... daily.

antomoli Posted March 24, 2006 #12 Share Posted March 24, 2006 MACOP.............I understand every discount except the residential discount. What is that? Rick The discount applies to residents of the State whose initial appears after the description of the sailing.
Candleonwater Posted March 24, 2006 #13 Share Posted March 24, 2006 How do these discounts work? I just called to see if anything was available for my mother, but all the agent could find was a senior discount on balcony cabins (we're in PR's). AFT_LOVER Posted March 24, 2006 #14 Share Posted March 24, 2006 to check for residential discounts. This is FREE AIR from your state for a specific cruise, or they are attracting folks from your state so 20% off for that state, the way FLA get discounts for just about every cruiseline. For our 5/14 we go non-stop air 7PM 5/13 to London Gatwick arriving at 7AM. We are a hub city for Continental who is flying us. Unfortunately we fly back Dellta to Atlanta first since CO has their 11:30AM flight nonstop back to us. TOO EARLY! So we will be ready to ride the bus to Harwich to board early. MACOP.............I understand every discount except the residential discount. What is that? Rick
paylady Posted March 25, 2006 #15 Share Posted March 25, 2006 Makes me want to hurry up and reach 55! I wonder how they handle the discount when only one spouse is 55 and the other 54.
Mike&Nancy Posted March 25, 2006 #16 Share Posted March 25, 2006 It doesn't matter whether one or both are 55. They give you the discount per booking. That would be the advantage of booking for your entire family, getting the senior discount, and also advancing your cruise credits. Optifire Posted March 25, 2006 #17 Share Posted March 25, 2006 Ladylawyer; Thanks for taking the time to list the site for the senior promotions...We ended up saving over $500.00 with a senior discount on our upcoming cruise on the Constellation. We booked another cruise for September of this year and I asked if there was a senior discount. She said not at this time, however one could become available at a later time. She suggested I call back every now and then to check. But now that you have listed this site I can check on the discount without the hazzle of calling in. Thanks so much for taking the time and sharing.
SakeDad Posted March 25, 2006 #18 Share Posted March 25, 2006 If I buy the cruise on my credit card and am younger than 55 but am taking my mom who is over 55, do we still get the discount? Or does it only apply if the senior is the one actually purchasing the trip?
Martin and Lindsey Posted March 25, 2006 #19 Share Posted March 25, 2006 Can you get Senior Discount on an inside cabin? I've never heard of this before, and wonder if we're entitled to it. How do we find out?
Martin and Lindsey Posted March 25, 2006 #20 Share Posted March 25, 2006 Just found on the website that inside cabin on next week's Serenade cruise does have Senior Discount listed. Do we contact the TA or RCCL?

Martin and Lindsey Posted March 28, 2006 #22 Share Posted March 28, 2006 We contacted our TA yesterday about the discount offered on the Royal Caribbean website for our cruise on April 1st. The TA told us that this discount was only offered on Z class (guaranteed) inside cabins. Is this what other people have found? The website doesn't mention this limitation. Is this correct? Candleonwater Posted March 28, 2006 #23 Share Posted March 28, 2006 I tried for the discount for a PR cabin and it's available on pretty much everything BUT that category. So I guess it's all dependent on availability.
