Seward, AK Excursions B2B

Recommended Posts

We are doing a Back to Back from Vancouver to Seward and then Seward to Vancouver in June.  What excursions are near Seward?  I only can find transfers and tours that start or end in Anchorage at the airport.  We are interested in any Bear/Wildlife/More Bears excursions in Seward, AK.  The ship arrives in Seward, AK in the AM and departs at 8:00pm, so I assume All Aboard would be 6:00pm - 2 hours before sailing since it is Day 1 for Southbound?   We are in the same cabin for both Northbound and Southbound so we will have no luggage.  Any ideas?

Although Bears are not necessarily included...

  • Kenai Fjords Tours
  • Major Marine Tours

They both provide Glacier & Wildlife Tours out of Resurrection Bay / Kenai Fjords National Park

If you let them know which ship you are on & scheduled all-aboard time, they will help you select a fabulous tour.

  • Exit Glacier - just outside of Seward - local tours & via taxi or car rental
  • Alaska Sea Life Center
  • Fishing - Halibut / Deep Sea
  • Wander around Seward - enjoy fresh seafood & local food/beverages (try Fireweed Ice-cream)...
  • There are 3 Breweries in Seward - if this is an interest
  • If you are interested in renting a car - you could hit Exit Glacier & Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) up by Portage

A local tour operator may offer a Bear Tour

You didn't say which Cruiseline...
At some point the Cruiseline will most likely have a couple of B2B excursions available

Anything specific you'd like to see - other than Bears?

We will be on Celebrity and they are only showing 1 excursion that does not involve an airport transfer.  We've been to Alaska at least a dozen times but never Seward.  All my sister wants to see is bears, bears, and more bears.  Lol.  Thanks for replying.

Von & Jon have provided an extensive list.  Just a few comments from another Alaskan: Use google to locate the Seward visitor's bureau to check their visitor's guide.  In the past Seward has had a shuttle service around the community and the visitor's bureau will know if it will be offered this coming summer.

Our favorite vendor offering small vessel trips into the Kenai Fjords National Park is Major Marine.  And one time we actually did see a bear on the shore while on one of their trips.
