Loose moose Posted March 19 #1 Share Posted March 19 Good afternoon My husband and I have booked a 14 night cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aires departing 19th February 2025. I'm looking at the itinerary and don't understand what happens when we arrive in Punta Arenas. The itinerary reads, Feb 25 Strait of Magellan , cruising only Feb 25 Punta Arenas arrives 0600am departs 0600pm Feb 25 Cockburn channel cruising only Feb 25 Beagle channel cruising only Do we have to decide between disembarking in Punta arenas at 6am 😳 and staying there till 6pm or staying onboard and cruising? Perhaps someone has cruised this itinerary and can explain thank you so much 😊
SilvertoGold Posted March 19 #2 Share Posted March 19 (edited) Off when you wish, return before 5:30 pm. After departure the ship will cruise Cockburn and Beagle Channels - wonderful scenery! Edited March 19 by SilvertoGold
SeeSun&Sea Posted March 19 #3 Share Posted March 19 On Feb 19th, late summer, it will be twilight until 11pm. So this will be an evening cruise of the Channel with no stops for glaciers or wild life. (= the "only" part of the description) Be sure to go sea kayaking down there!

Rare Ken the cruiser Posted March 19 #5 Share Posted March 19 (edited) We were just there on the Sapphire Princess and posted some of our experiences to the below Live From thread. At post 125 on page 5 is where we headed into the Strait of Magellan. As you will see after we left Punta Arenas, if you go the same route we went, we eventually arrived at Beagle Channel around 5 am on our way to Ushuaia. You definitely want to set your alarm clock to be outside on the starboard side or aft at that time! Edited March 19 by Ken the cruiser

Rare 0106 Posted March 24 #7 Share Posted March 24 Here is the Roll Call for your cruise. There were several LIVE threads this year that may be helpful with your planning. Be sure to book your tours early before they sell out.
