VISA FOR BALI?

My wife and I are cruising from Singapore to Sydney via Bali later in March. Can a visa be purchased on arrival at the port?  The online application, which can be undertaken before our cruise, involves downloading a photograph and scanning our passports. As we are in our upper 70's and not very technologically able, this task is beyond us I'm afraid. Thank you.

I wonder what cruise line our OP is using.  My experience last fall on Celebrity was that the responsibility for obtaining the Bali visa fell onto the passengers to obtain prior to reaching the port.

Last year we got our own visa for Indonesia.  It was quick and easy to do online.  However lots of people had to pay again at the entry point because they did not get multiple entry and we visited two Indonesian ports on that trip.

@woodley Do you remember which visa you applied for? When looking at the site to apply, there were several options. There is a Tourist (Visa on Arrival) B1 good for 30 days and is about $31. The D1 Tourist Multiple Entry, good for 1 year, is about US $183 and then the Tourist Single Entry Visitor Visa is about $92. No wonder everyone is confused! Thanks for any help you might have.

I applied for the B1 Visa on arrival.  I applied before arrival though which was a bit confusing and printed it off.

Thats called the EVOA. Which we did last month and is done online. Yesterday we returned to Bali and did the VOA which means lining up after arrival paying the fee, getting the stamp and then through immigration.
 

If you get the EVOA in advance you can use the egates which are much quicker than the VOA.  EVOA is always our preference. 
 

You also need a customs clearance and this is always done online and is much better done 3 days prior to arrival than queuing up at a computer at the airport. 
 

Most people would apply for the single entry 30 day visa.  Either doing it in advance, EVOA.  Or on arrival. VOA. 
 

We go to Bali around twice a year.

Thanks for your information. Any idea why there is such a big difference in price? We're on a cruise and stopping at several Indonesian ports. The hang-up is another country in between a couple of the Indonesian ports.

Unfortunately that means a multi entry visa then. Is the cruise line of any help? Sometimes they get a blanket visa although if departing from Bali you will need at least a single entry visa to get into the country.

It’s a round trip Singapore cruise. I think the ship will do it but quite a bit more, of course. Is it possible to do 2 B1 visas? Thanks.
