Been in effect since last year. Must accept O's itinerary. Choosing your own flights etc. and arriving/departing outside the 3 day window still requires deviation fee of $199/pp.

Allowing guests to arrive early or depart later alleviates crowding. Last June we used O air.  We didn’t realize that we could fly in early. We flew in the day of the cruise. With the crazy flights and long bus transfer, we arrived at the port 2 hours before the ship sailed.  Never want to experience that again.

Do not know how long it will last but Oceania is currently offering free air deviations from Gateway cities.

Other Gateways are $99.50 each direction

Clicked on the link.  There's nothing that specifically addresses air deviations.

Then what exactly is free?  I though air deviations was the thing that allowed you to chose your own flights?  Of course, I don't know much about O's air program since we have never used it; we found we could book flights just as cheaply ourselves.

You can go up to 3days early but you still  have to accept the flight they choose for you. If you pick your own flights then you pay the deviation fee.

Previously when you chose their flight you had to go in on the day of the cruise.

The 3-day free flight ‘window’ is one possibility that few know about. So as to allow for weather, delays or lost luggage, many suggest arriving 1-day before embarkation.

Oceania Air deviation is one of the lesser known travel options.

Once a deposit has been made and 270 days before embarkation, you can request specific flights and dates = Air deviation. Yes, the cost is $199 USD per guest plus any airline up charges beyond the Oceania contracted fare.

Once requested, Oceania Air Department will present you with a quote which you can accept or reject within 96 hours.
