Rebooking After Casino Offer

Recommended Posts

I am looking at a sailing in August that has current pricing that is appealing to me, so I want to lock it in now, in case prices go up. However, I am going on the Enchanted Princess in May and planning to play a decent amount in the casino. Final payment for the August cruise wouldn't be due until just after I return from my May sailing. If I were to be offered some sort of casino comp or discount based on my gambling on the May sailing, would I be able to cancel and rebook the August cruise using that promotion or does Princess have a policy against that?

Is the August cruise a casino offer? If not and assuming you cancel before the 90 days then you would get a refund and then could book a bounce back offer (from May sailing). However, prices are going up but if the August booking is not a casino offer then an offer from playing in May would  most probably be a better offer - of course that is assuming you can get a cabin (or one that you want).

I booked last week for July 2025 even though I am taking 2 cruises this year. I had a casino offer but was hoping to get a better one. However, the ship was selling out so I didn’t want to GAMBLE that a cabin would be available after my 2nd cruise in June.

if I’m incorrect about anything I wrote someone please correct me - we are all just trying to cruise!

The August cruise would be booked using my current casino offer which is just the 35% off with $100 OBC. I was hoping I might get a better offer during/after my May sailing.

So that makes the decision tougher. I will say that my 2 bookings for next year using my current offer are higher - so even if you get an offer the cost to book later may be higher even with a better offer. Again, I booked because cabins were selling out. Cabins may open up later inside the 90 day timeframe but at what cost. If you have your heart set on the cruise you booked then I would keep it. If you are indifferent about whether you get to go and or don’t mind gambling and ending up paying more then wait.

One factor that might influence my decision is that if I book with my current 35% off offer, the deposit ($200) is non-refundable. So if I were to get a better offer onboard my May sailing, whatever it is would have to be better enough to justify losing the deposit to rebook.

Indeed - actually 400 if someone is going with you. For me, it was worth the 400 to get the cabin I wanted and the price. If I can do better later then I’d gladly forfeit the 400.

The deposit is only $200 total for two people. So not as bad as that.

Well even better.  Keep what you got, have fun on your May cruise.  If you get a good bounce back offer, the price is right and availability is there with a cabin you like then cancel and book.

Oh and I would go through a CVP and not do it on your own online.

Totally agree dealing with the casino is a pain let your CVP give you advice

I don't think I have a CVP?

I would get one. The are Princess employees and can help out with other departments

How do I get one? Just call?

@JamieLogical Since you sailed on Princess before, it's extremely likely that a CVP was assigned to you, regardless of whether you ever dealt with them.  It's likely you received some junk email from this CVP in the past.  Search some of those emails if you have the time to find their name and extension number.  Otherwise just give the general phone line a call and start from there 1-800-901-1172.

Once you talk to someone, definitely lay-out your thinking on the trying to max-out your best casino cruise offer, whether current or future.  Note that a bounce back offer doesn't become activated in the system for 10+ days, so it may be too late to use for the August cruise.

It wouldn't necessarily be "too late," it just might increase my risk. Say I go ahead and pay the $200 deposit now to book using my current casino offer. Then onboard, I receive a bounce back offer on my May sailing and have to wait for it to activate. I could still cancel my current booking (losing the deposit) by the final payment date (the day after my May sailing). Then I would kind of be in limbo for a bit with no booking for the August cruise and I would have to hope there are still cabins available by the time my bounce back offer was activated.

Well, I went ahead and booked the August sailing with my current casino offer for now. I ended up having to pay an $800 refundable deposit. For some reason, when choosing a deluxe balcony GTY, it wanted to charge me a $200 non-refundable deposit, but when paying an extra $24 per person to pick a deluxe balcony, it was an $800 refundable deposit? We decided to pay the higher deposit and have it be fully refundable.

And, of course, today they started a promo for $99 deposits! I was able to cancel my booking from yesterday and rebook with the lower deposit. Now Princess will have less of my money while I am still hemming and hawing about whether or not to do this sailing.
