Rssc Splendor G1 Deluxe Veranda - what issues?

Looking at Deluxe Veranda Deck 6 G1 that are currently guaranteed basis.  Are there any issues with these cabins please?  Thanks in advance.

The G category suites are quite small compared to the F and above. They also have queen beds compared with king beds in F and above.

We were in an Explorer G for a transatlantic. The Queen bed size did not bother us. At that time (the first year) they were changing the name quite a bit. So I think it is a bit larger than a US queen. 
The thing that bothered us about the size was the coffee table.  Since it is low like a coffee table and has a rim around the top (Explorer had more of a cage around the lower part) it really seems to make the table wasted space and we felt the smallness of the cabin. We have moved up to F levels.

We were in a G category on Splendor back in February for a one-week Caribbean cruise.  It was fine, but we found it a bit narrow.  Also, we were used to Voyager, where all cabin categories have walk-in closets.  G category on Splendor has a much smaller closet.  It was fine for a one-week Caribbean cruise, but it would have been problematic for a longer, TA cruise.  Ultimately, we realized that on Explorer and Splendor class of ships, we need to book F class and above suites if we are booking a longer cruise.

Agreed that the Cat F is the 'sweet spot' on the Explorer-class ships.  The G and H cabins, while nicely appointed, are just a hair small for two adults, IMO.  The per diem to step up to an F2 is small enough that we consider it a 'must-do' upgrade and just figure it into our cruise fare.

 

For us, we book F or above on Explorer, Splendor, Grandeur, and Navigator (for the balcony) but will do G or even H on Voyager or Mariner.  Mariner can be up in the air for us, we've only sailed on her a few times and usually get an upgrade to an Horizonview suite, but could be happy in the standard cabins as well.
