AT&T ship wi-fi package

AT&T has a ship wi-fi package for $100 for 30 days. I’ll be cruising in Italy. They say it runs off the same satellites as the ship uses. Has anyone ever used it? I’m wondering if it works very well as I’ve heard stories about connections being bad. I’m not paying for the ship’s package and thought this might be a good alternative.

My understanding is that it comes with 1GB of data - which depending on how you use your phone could blow through quickly

Make sure of the restrictions. . all of them.  A while back the speed was throttled, data limited etc.  No idea today.

I have used the ATT cruise package I'm Europe and the Caribbean, worked fabulously each time.
