  1. Honestly you need to judge for yourself, some people like to look for the negative in everything. I normally book regular balcony or infinite veranda rooms as I travel alone and never had a horrible cruise. Sure small things here or there could be improved (like someone forgot a drink) but that's down to human error or people having a bad day - it does not make a terrible cruise.
  2. When I did it the menu was only accurate when on board, I had selected a particular day and when the menu changed when on board I changed the reservation date.
  3. Basically, I remember my old neighbour would eat out twice a week at nice restaurants, drag their 5 year old along and when he acted up shove a iPhone in front of him. They were then shocked when he asked for an iPhone for his 6th birthday. Mind you when kids on the street (including hers) were climbing on people's houses and I told them to get down, she told me 'they will listen if you are friend with them'. My response was 'no, as an adult telling them to get off property they should listen. And your job as a parent is to raise them not to be their friends, can do that when they are adults' When I was a child my parents would only go out for special occasions and my nan would look after me because my parents didn't believe in kids acting up in public. I think I was 8 or 9 when they finally took me, basically old enough to know how to behave. Forget acting up in a supermarket, I would have been pulled out the store immediately - no rewarding me for bad behaviour. I never thought I would turn into my parents but here I am realizing they were right 😅
  4. I would - nothing against kids but last cruise there were kids running up and down the hallway almost knocking people over because they were treating the area near the cafe as a playground. Some people I was speaking to said some of them had shouted at them (some not so pleasant things). I heard one in the hallway outside my room one night around 11pm screaming his lungs out - probably overtired as past their bedtime. Basically the kids were bored. Kids that need quieter environments it would have been fine but there were a lot of kids due to it being holidays and well these kids needed entertainment that wasn't on this ship. Sometimes you need to know your kids, as a kid I would have been fine in this environment as I am an only child so I made my own entertainment or would read, but if your kid needs a lot of stimulation this is not the line
  5. When I was on Apex my dinner ran late so no room downstairs by the time I got there, upstairs was cornered off for reserved seating but before the show they opened it up for everyone - wasn't a big deal I got a seat.
  6. Andy has it right, the sunset veranda is more expensive so 'moving up' to a lesser room for more money makes no sense.
  7. That was the turning point for me, they were asked to stop filming and continued to do so. Ok they didn't have the person's face in the camera but they were filming and actually being difficult about it. Also I noticed when they left they were like 'this is a business so no point us being here' but a lot of other videos its a 'holiday' that they are filming. Which is it? (yes I know they make money off of it but the getting off the ship seemed more cut nose off to spite your face attitude). On top their reviews tend to be more positive when they are invited on shall we say.
  8. I looked at a different Iceland one, inside room only to book as a solo and it's $5k Canadian before anything else - I removed the solo person, all rooms available and inside starts at $1,600 I think I'm going to see what they have next month, I was interested in Italy anyway. Although good news it looks cheaper for the solar eclipse dates than what Virgin was quoting lol

  10. lol my husband says he'll sleep when he's dead 😆 btw I love sleep and I am normally in bed early as I am up at 5am to workout but not when on holiday. My late is still earlier than some people but I don't expect parties not to happen. One thing with music/sound as we have a 7.1 surround sound with a massive subwoofer - the bass carries. Often I'm upstairs at home and telling my husband to turn down the subwoofer because the bass carries - he doesn't hear it yet upstairs things are shaking 😅
  11. Just turn up when you want to eat, in July there were two lines on Apex for dinner those with early/late dining and anytime dining. I just turned up at 6pm when I wanted to eat.
  12. Its funny I watched a video talking yesterday about Celebrity's downfall is lack of night life after 10:45pm lol
  13. I was able to video call my husband no issue while on the premium package
  14. ha last cruise someone near me was singing loudly and out of tune that the performer actually said ‘whoever is singing, stop’ I think there is just general lack of consideration these days
  15. I think that's why people complained on MSC. Like I snap a photo to post on here but not whole filming equipment, I'm already self conscious as it is.
  16. Filming isn't the same as taking a photo of your food. Yes I do lives and have done some filming but I'd never film in a restaurant. Filming takes time, they are not taking seconds to film they are continuously filming for the whole thing. That's hours of filming they are doing for YouTube. Unless you are doing a live video it's a lot of retakes and extra filming to make sure you have content. Yes I watch B&D and I have seen the video in question, it was quite clear not only staff but passengers were unhappy. I saw people in the video with annoyed looks on their face. I've been on MSC my DSLR is quite big as it has extra battery pack on it, I've not been stopped but then I don't film or take pictures with people in. When I was on Beyond there was a travel agent filming but they were off in a corner and not bothering anyone, that's how to do it. I know a lot of TAs that film work with the cruise lines but they generally aren't in people's way or work with the line to film. There are other videos I watch and people will quickly photo/film the food but then do the food review in their room after which personally I think is a better way to do it as you aren't bothering other people.
  17. Oh no, she sounds like me I always seem to get the extra checks on my camera bag at the airport. Last time they literally wanted to pat me down as well, by this point they emptied my camera bag all over the table (thousands of $ worth of equipment just sitting out in the open) and asked if I wanted to go to a room to be searched. I wasn't leaving all my stuff so told them just to check me there in front of everyone.
  18. I'd agree with this, lots of people keep saying other lines are cheaper but when I've priced them out they are way more expensive.
  19. Honestly my cruise first the sommelier was MIA. It was so bad the waiter had to actually get wine for me. One night they never came over at all, then the next night it was a different person who actually did serve me but then following went back to the original who again was too busy with other tables the waiter had to get wine for me. I don't know if its a staffing issue or not
  20. When I was on it was around 10am (10:30 maybe), 4 and pub quiz 8:30
  21. Personally I agree, but I grew up in the UK where the price you see is what you pay which makes it far easier But yeah the tip isn't exactly optional like it is a bar in North America so its weird to not include it in the listed price
  22. They won't until the ship is out of Florida I believe. I wouldn't stress once its in US area it will be $17 for items that are currently $20 Some drinks will be higher than premium pricing but rule of thumb right now if its 20 it will be 17 when the ship transitions Legally some countries have to have everything in the price, tax/service etc which is why its higher right now
  23. Which ships? Apex is currently in Europe so it's $20 because it includes tips because even though your cruise is at another time it's pulling current menus and prices in - not the one you'll have.
