Rare NMTraveller Posted May 5 #1 Share Posted May 5 What is the set up likely to be on my Delta overseas flight as far as entertainment, Bluetooth headphones, etc. Will I be able to connect my iPhone to the entertainment system? How do I connect my wireless headphones? Should I just bring a cord? Looking to connect my Airpod Max...
Rare FlyerTalker Posted May 5 #2 Share Posted May 5 This divides into two separate cases. The first is if you are streaming from the aircraft entertainment system to your device via the onboard wifi. In this case, you would have the usual connectivity between your device and your headphones. If you are instead viewing on the aircraft display screen, then you likely won't have bluetooth to your headphones. This is available on some aircraft, but I can't say if you would or would not have this functionality on your specific aircraft. So, if you want to go bluetooth, the best solution is stream to your own device and listen just as you would anywhere else.

Rare CDNPolar Posted May 5 #4 Share Posted May 5 We have not "upgraded" yet to bluetooth capabilities, but are looking at this for future. We still carry our Bose wired noise cancelling headphones onto every flight, even if we are flying in a seat that the airline provides, because we know the noise cancelling capabilities of these and they can block out a screaming baby / child well. I have not had the same experience with my Air Pods connected to my device, even with the noise cancelling feature enabled. These Bose earphones have saved us so many times.
Rare NMTraveller Posted May 5 Author #5 Share Posted May 5 (edited) The Airpod Max is the version with the cups over the ear. I have been next to screaming kids and I was able to block it out for a long flight. I will bring cords, bluetooth adapters, and have 3 ways of connecting. Surely one will work. Bringing out the AirFlys ... Edited May 5 by NMTraveller

I have used a wireless Bluetooth adapter on Delta to connect to the onboard video. The only problem was that the flight lasted a lot longer than the charge on the adapter!!! We have learned that delays, cancelations, and many other reasons can cause any tech that you have to run out of juice. We always carry a charger that is super fast and has more than enough extra juice for any occasion. I know that wired is restrictive, and although at home I go completely wireless with my sound, on a flight I still depend on wires.
