Celebrity Ascent Barcelona to Rome June 8th

Recommended Posts

The ship has made it's crossing and has now started the Mediterranean Itinerary.  If you have done this trip or reverse, can you please give us a short review and any hints you may have as to what the ports have, taxi, buses, vans.  Also if you have done any tours that were good we would love to know.

How was your arrival handled.  Was there a long wait or was it smooth.  thanks

Would think your rollcallthe vest place to get answers and tour info.

Arrival in Civitivecchia?  You walk off in the port.  Tours can pick you up near the pier.  Shuttle to get you near town really easy.

This isn’t the Roll Call, it is the general Celebrity board.

Here is a link to the Roll Call for the June 8 Ascend sailing.

My mother and I did the April 27th cruise on Celebrity Ascent.  Beautiful ship!! As this was the 1st Mediterranean cruise for the this ship, I was expecting some long lines and waits.  The tendering in Santa Margarita and Nice, France were frustrating to say the least.  In Santa Margherita, we had to wait to board the tender boats (they used their lifeboats) and could only handle 3 maybe 4 to and from port to ship.  I do hope it works its way out and they get a system going.  I should note that we only did the Celebrity excursions and did not venture to other third party as I've read quite a few passengers do.  I heard one gentleman say they missed their meeting time on port in Nice as they used 3rd party vendor and had to wait 2 hours before they could tender out.   Other ports were docked, Florence, Rome, and Naples.  I do want to say that Florence was 1-1/2 hour one way from port to city as well as Rome.  We didn't mind that as we loved the beautiful tuscany vineyards and napped on the bus! We loved our cruise and blessed to have spent time with my mother (84 years old!).
