Is insect repellent needed for Norway in June

I will be sailing from Oslo to Honningsvåg (for Nordkapp) and back to Copenhagen. I will be in Oslo from June 11 to 15, then the cruise to June 29, then 4 days in Copenhagen. Is insect repellent needed?

I don't think it is necessary to use insect repellent in Copenhagen and Oslo as well as a cruise along the coast of Norway in June.

I have sailed several times along the coast of Norway in June including Honningsvåg and have never experienced that insects were a problem.

Mosquitoes can occur but not in large numbers in June along the coast and in the cities.

Depends a lot on what you’re doing. If you’ll be hiking in the forests around Oslo, it’s worth having on hand. Within the city center and in breezy coastal areas it’s not usually needed.

I'm not a hiker, so I guess I don't need to worry. Thanks.

Just had this conversation with a friend out on the islands, and as someone particularly attractive to mosquitos she encounters them in the city center. So if you’re particularly prone, you might want to be prepared. But you can always just buy some locally if it turns out to be a problem.

I am fairly susceptible. I’ll just add some of my insect repellent sheets, which take up no space in my luggage.

We were there last week. It was fine around the ports but we hiked and midges were a problem in the wooded areas, we hadn’t thought ahead on this and were bitten.
