Yokohama laundry 🧺

We are b2b in Yokohama so an ideal time to get the laundry done! Assuming B2B formalities are quick (🤷‍♀️) has anyone used a coin operated laundry in Yokohama they can recommend?

Hmmm, So you are paying how much a day to be in Japan?  And you want to spend some of that time sitting around a laundromat?  ROFL.  My advice is to send out your laundry on your cruise ship and enjoy your holiday.

We paid for the 3 bags of laundry on board.  Admittedly we are in Tokyo for two weeks prior to the cruise so I did book a hotel near the port that has a washer/dryer in the room before our cruise but I am trying to pack less clothes so I can get even more in our luggage back…

Most Coin Laundromats are in Yokohama City South Area, none is near the cruise terminal. 
Will be fun if one doesn't understand Japanese Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. You can use your smartphone to take a screenshot on instruction and google translate.

16Kg  60 min, wash and dry for 1200 yen

7kg  45min, wash and dry for 1000 yen

27kg 30 min, wash only for 1000 yen

15 kg 8min, dry only for 100 yen

If google for laundromat don't go to Kotobukicho area (behind Yokohama Stadium), you do find corner laundry but also soup kitchen, homeless and welfare shelters. It's like US San Francisco, very polarized between high-end resident areas and slum areas.

It’s a turnaround day. 
As we are spending 12 n on a ship around Japan and then another 8 days on land. I can afford to spend a few minutes in a laundromat.

I’ve found Sunny Service Wash which is just beyond Chinatown, apparently a 20 min walk from Osanbashi. At least the name is in English which is encouraging !
What could possibly go wrong lol!

There are so many Asian workers in Japan, Thai is the 5th common langauage.
search UTube "how to use coin laundry in Japan", you will know how to use it"

These two laundromats mostly use by foreign workers who temporary stay in Yokohama, have English signages
1. Mamma Ciao Yokohama Nishiguchi.  near Yokohama station

 

2. Wash & Fold Yokohama Odori Park  (provided self-service washing machine or laundry service)  A Lawson Convenience store is nearby to for drink and snack.

 

You can google map and street view, clean stores.
